The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, met the Administrator of the State Oceanic Administration (SOA), Mr Wang Hong, at Government House this evening (March 21) to exchange views on issues of mutual interest.
Noting that the relevant departments of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government have established close communication and co-operation with the SOA over the years, Mr Leung said that both sides had regular exchanges of data and technology in respect of weather and ocean phenomena, as well as discussions on enhancing protection of the marine environment. He said he hoped that both sides would continue to maintain close ties and co-operation on various fronts.
