The Secretary for Innovation and Technology, Mr Nicholas W Yang, will leave for Hainan on Wednesday afternoon (March 23) to attend the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2016.
The theme of this year's Annual Conference is "Asia's New Future: New Dynamics, New Vision". The Innovation and Technology Bureau will co-organise a session entitled "Innovation and the New Economy of Hong Kong" on Thursday (March 24) at which the Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, will deliver a keynote speech while the Secretary for Innovation and Technology will join panel discussions with distinguished industry figures.
The Founding President of the Academy of Sciences of Hong Kong, Professor Tsui Lap-chee, will be the moderator of the panel discussions. Other panellists will include the Kim B Clark Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School, Professor Clayton Christensen; the Group Chairman of the Fung Group, Dr Victor Fung; Managing Partner of Qiming Venture Partners Ms Nisa Leung; founder and Chief Executive Officer of WeLab Mr Simon Loong; and founder and Chief Executive Officer of Nest Investments Mr Simon Squibb.
Mr Yang will leave Hainan on Thursday night. In his absence, the Under Secretary for Innovation and Technology, Dr David Chung, will act as Secretary for Innovation and Technology.
