The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, will visit Hainan on March 23 and 24 to attend the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2016. The theme of the conference this year is "Asia's New Future: New Dynamics, New Vision".
In the evening on March 23, Mr Leung will attend a dinner reception in celebration of the 15th anniversary of the Boao Forum for Asia and meet Hong Kong students who volunteer at the annual conference.
On March 24, Mr Leung will attend the opening plenary of the annual conference and deliver a keynote speech at the discussion session entitled "Innovation and the New Economy of Hong Kong". The Secretary for Innovation and Technology, Mr Nicholas W Yang, will join as one of the panellists. On the same day, Mr Leung will also meet with delegates attending the annual conference.
Accompanying the Chief Executive at the conference will be the Director of Information Services, Mr Patrick Nip, and the Deputy Private Secretary to the Chief Executive, Mr Te Chi-wang.
Mr Leung will leave for Hainan in the morning on March 23 and depart for Hong Kong in the evening on March 24. During Mr Leung's absence, the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mrs Carrie Lam, will be the Acting Chief Executive.
