Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Pat Heung this morning (March 11) in which a 66-year-old man was killed.
At about 8.20am, a light goods vehicle driven by a 65-year-old man was travelling along westbound Kam Tin Road. When approaching Wang Toi Shan Lo Uk Tsuen, the vehicle turned right into an unnamed road, and it reportedly knocked down the 66-year-old man who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious injuries, the man was rushed to Pok Oi Hospital in unconscious state where he was certified dead at 9.13am.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway.
