Soprano Louise Kwong to give vocal recital in June (with photo)

     The promising local soprano Louise Kwong will give a vocal recital in June, performing works by Mozart, Bellini, Cilea, Bizet, Donizetti, Puccini and Verdi. The recital will feature tenor Chen Chen and pianist Nina Yip.

     Louise Kwong obtained master's degrees from the Dutch National Opera Academy and the Conservatory of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, as well as a bachelor's degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and a post-graduate diploma with distinction from the Royal College of Music, London.

     Kwong has won prizes at numerous singing competitions, including the first prize in the "Salice d'oro" and "Città di Iseo" in Italy (2015), the second prize in the 7th International "Bell'arte" in Belgium (2015), and the second prize, audience prize and best soprano prize in the 18th International "Ferruccio Tagliavini" in Austria (2012). She also received the Hong Kong Arts Development Council's "Young Artist Award in Music 2014".

     Kwong has been invited to perform in several international music festivals and to sing title roles in many local and overseas opera productions.

     Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, "Vocal Recital by Louise Kwong" will be staged at 8pm on June 25 (Saturday) at the Theatre of Hong Kong City Hall.
