Government's response to appointment of new Managing Director of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort

     The HKSAR Government today (March 7) welcomes the appointment of Mr Samuel Lau as the Managing Director of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort (HKDL). "With Mr Lau's rich experience in theme park operations and infrastructure development both in Hong Kong and in the United States, we are confident that Mr Lau will be able to lead the team in HKDL in sailing through this dynamic and challenging environment. We look forward to working closely with Mr Lau in his new capacity to bring the business of HKDL to new heights," A spokesman said.

     On behalf of the HKSAR Government, the Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, would like to express appreciation for the outgoing Managing Director, Mr Andrew Kam's contribution to HKDL and the tourism industry in Hong Kong in the past eight years. "Mr Kam led the HKDL team in accomplishing a series of major expansion works and drove the performance of the park to new records. We wish him every success in his future endeavours," Mr Tsang said.
