The incumbent Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations), Mr Wong Chi-hung, will extend his current term of office for six months to October 16, 2016 while the incumbent Deputy Commissioner of Police (Management), Mr Chau Kwok-leung, will extend his current term of office for 12 months to May 7, 2017.
A Police spokesman said today (March 4), ˇ§Approval has been given to extend Mr Wongˇ¦s and Mr Chauˇ¦s service respectively for six months and 12 months to facilitate a smooth transition of the senior Force management.ˇ¨
Mr Wong and Mr Chau are originally scheduled to retire upon reaching the normal retirement age of 57 on April 17 this year and May 8 this year respectively.
