SCS visits Singapore (with photo)

     The Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Clement Cheung, will depart for Singapore today (March 2) for a visit to better understand the management and training of the civil service there. He will also meet with senior government officials.

     During his stay, Mr Cheung will meet with Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister in charge of the Civil Service, Mr Teo Chee Hean, and relevant officials to exchange views on the overall management of the civil service. He will also visit the Civil Service College of Singapore and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy to learn more about civil service training and public policy research.

     Mr Cheung will meet with Hong Kong people living and working in Singapore to learn more about their daily life and work conditions. Mr Cheung will also take the opportunity to visit the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office there to see its operation. During his visit, Mr Cheung will tour the Punggol Eco-town for a better understanding of the sustainable urban planning in Singapore.

¡@¡@Later this evening, Mr Cheung will pay a courtesy call on the Chinese Ambassador to Singapore, Mr Chen Xiaodong. They will discuss the linkages and development among the Mainland, Hong Kong and Singapore.
