Special traffic arrangements for Kwun Yum Treasury Opening Festival

     Police will implement special traffic arrangements and crowd safety management measures in various districts to facilitate worshippers attending the ceremony of Kwun Yum Treasury Opening from tomorrow (March 2) to March 4.
 
Hung Hom
--------
 
     The following traffic arrangements will be implemented between 2pm on March 3 and 11pm the following day:
 
A. Road closure
 
- Ping Chi Street;
- Station Lane between Gillies Avenue South and Walker Road;
- Station Lane between Gillies Avenue South and Ma Tau Wai Road (except for vehicles of Ka Wai Chuen residents);
- Kun Yam Street between Wuhu Street and Station Lane; and
- Walker Road between Wuhu Street and Station Lane.
 
B. Traffic diversion
 
- Vehicles along southbound Chatham Road North heading for Fat Kwong Street via Ping Chi Street will be diverted via eastbound Wuhu Street, northbound Ma Tau Wai Road and westbound Fat Kwong Street;
- Vehicles along southbound Gillies Avenue South heading for northbound Ma Tau Wai Road will be diverted via eastbound Wuhu Street and northbound Ma Tau Wai Road; and
- Vehicles of Ka Wai Chuen residents along southbound Gillies Avenue South heading for Station Lane will be diverted via eastbound Wuhu Street, northbound Ma Tau Wai Road and westbound Station Lane.
 
C. Suspension of parking space
 
     The five motorcycle parking spaces on Hok Yuen Lane near the entrance of Tsing Chau Street Playground will be suspended until 8pm on March 4.
 
     All parking spaces at the following locations will be suspended from 8am on March 3 to 11pm the following day:
 
- Kun Yam Street between Wuhu Street and Station Lane;
- Station Lane between Gillies Avenue South and Walker Road; and
- Bulkeley Street between Gillies Avenue South and Walker Road.
 
Mong Kok
--------
 
     The following parking spaces will be suspended from 8pm on March 3 to 4pm the following day:
 
- Shantung Street meter nos. 5588, 5622 and 5623; and
- Hak Po Street meter nos. 5548 and 5549A.
 
Tsz Wan Shan
------------
 
     Shatin Pass Road between Tsz Wan Shan Road and Jat's Incline will be closed between 9pm on March 3 and 6am the following day.
 
     During the road closure period, only New Territories Residentsˇ¦ Service Route no. NR806, vehicles with permit and residents registered vehicles of Shap Yi Wat Village, Mau Tat Village, Kwun Yum Shan Village and Kwun Yum Garden will be allowed access.
 
Yuen Long
---------
 
     One-way traffic flow will be implemented from north to south along Tai Shu Ha Road East between the two vehicular bridges connecting Tai Shu Ha Road East and Tai Shu Ha Road West from 8pm on March 3 to 5am the following day. Affected motorists are advised to travel via Tai Shu Ha Road West.
 
Happy Valley
------------
 
A. Road Closure
 
     The following roads will be closed from 5pm on March 3 to 7pm the following day:
 
- Lai Yin Lane;
- Lin Fa Kung Street East;
- Lin Fa Kung Street West; and
- Lily Street.
 
B. Suspension of parking spaces
 
     All on-street parking spaces and motorcycle parking spaces on the eastern kerbside lane of Tung Lo Wan Road between the northern and southern junctions with Lai Yin Lane will be suspended from 10am on March 3 to 7pm the following day.
 
Shau Kei Wan
------------
 
     The pavement of Shau Kei Wan Main Street East between Keng Shan Lane and A Kung Ngam Village Road will be cordoned by mills barriers, if necessary, between 3pm on March 3 and 6pm the following day to facilitate worshippers. Any illegal parked vehicles will be towed away prior to the erection of mills barriers.
 
Central

     The pavement of Tai Ping Shan Street and Square Street up to Kui In Fong will be cordoned by mills barriers, if necessary, between 8pm on March 3 and 6pm the following day to facilitate worshippers. Any illegal parked vehicles will be towed away prior to the erection of mills barriers.                                                                                              
 
     Temporary incinerators will not be placed near Lik Sing Kung of Man Mo Temple at Hollywood Road and Kwun Yum Temple at Tai Ping Shan Street to avoid causing nuisance to local residents and environmental problems.
                                                                                        
     Actual implementation of the crowd safety management measures and traffic arrangements will be made depending on traffic and crowd conditions in the areas. Members of the public are advised to exercise tolerance and patience and take heed of instructions of the Police on site.
