Results of contests to promote "Healthy Information, Healthy Mind"

     The Office for Film, Newspaper and Article Administration (OFNAA) today (February 27) announced the results of the 2015 Healthy Mobile Phone/Tablet Apps Nomination Programme, the 2015 Meritorious Websites Contest and the 7th Healthy Internet Video Contest. These programmes aim to promote the message of "Healthy Information, Healthy Mind" and remind youngsters to stay away from objectionable information.

     The Healthy Mobile Phone/Tablet Apps Nomination Programme, which has been held for the fifth year, encourages the use of apps with healthy, practical and educational content. During the nomination period, more than 3 400 nominations involving a total of 269 apps were received. After considering various assessment criteria such as promotion of the development of a healthy mind, educational value, practicality and creativity, the judging panel selected the following 10 winning apps:

2. NASA App
3. RTHK On The Go
4. Google Maps
5. HOPE Chinese Character Game
6. Chinese-Cantonese Syllabary
7. BBC News
8. Idiom Dictionary
9. Putonghua Learning
10. MoooFit
 
     The Meritorious Websites Contest was first held in 2000 and has entered its 16th year. The theme of the programme is "Surf Smartly and Spend Time Wisely". It aims to encourage website producers to develop healthy websites for young people. A total of 138 nominations were received and more than 14 000 participants cast their votes. The 10 winners of the 2015 Meritorious Websites Contest, which cover a wide range of topics including weather forecasts, news and current affairs, nature conservation and environmental protection, animal rights and space science, are as follows:

6. Visiting Country and Marine Parks
7. SPCA Hong Kong

9. Hong Kong Space Museum

     The 7th Healthy Internet Video Contest was co-organised by OFNAA and the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups. The programme aims to encourage healthy and responsible online behaviour among young people and to educate them to stay away from harmful online materials.

     A total of 68 entries (including 53 school entries and 15 public entries) competed for the awards of Best Video, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor/Actress and Best Visual Effects. The winning entries for Best Video selected by an adjudication panel are as follows:

Champion: 18+
First Runner-up: Say No to Cyber Bullying
Second Runner-up: Antibodies Against Violent Game Viruses
