Income and asset limits of Work Incentive Transport Subsidy Scheme to be raised again
************************************************************

All the income and asset limits of the Work Incentive Transport Subsidy (WITS) Scheme are raised again starting from the claim month of February this year. The new limits, detailed in the Annex, are applicable to applications for subsidy for that month onwards. Applicants who become eligible under the new limits may apply in August 2016 at the earliest for the six-month subsidy from February to July.

The WITS Scheme allows individual-based and household-based applicants to apply for subsidy for the previous six to 12 months in each application. The maximum claim period is the preceding 12 months. Applications for subsidy starting from March 2015 onwards should be submitted before the end of March 2016.

Enquiries about the new limits and the application deadline of the WITS Scheme can be made at its 24-hour hotline 2717 1771 (handled by 1823) and enquiry counters of the WITS Division at Unit 1225, 12/F, Kowloonbay International Trade & Exhibition Centre, 1 Trademart Drive, Kowloon Bay. Details of the Scheme are also available at the Labour Department's homepage (www.labour.gov.hk).
