************************************************************

Latvia's ABLV Group announced today (February 25) that it has opened a representative office in Hong Kong, leveraging the city's status as an international financial and business centre to expand its client base in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Hong Kong representative office, ABLV Consulting Services, provides advisory services to local businesses to promote their goods and services in the European Union and the Commonwealth of Independent States by offering full banking support from its parent company. The office is also organising a half-day conference, "ABLV Group: Gateway Between Europe and Asia", to be held in Hong Kong on February 29 to outline banking opportunities for business people operating in foreign markets, as well as give participants an insight into the Latvian financial sector in general.

The head of ABLV Consulting Services, Mr Dmitry Semyonov, said, "Hong Kong is one of the biggest financial centres in the world, offering attractive taxation and licensing systems. It was a natural decision for us to set up in the city in order to expand the Asian financial market."

He added, "Together with the growing number of clients based in the Asia-Pacific region, many of which have already set up in Hong Kong, it is important for us to follow their footprints to maintain business relations, as well as acquire more clients."

Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion Mr Charles Ng said, "Hong Kong as one of the world's easiest places in which to do business and has attracted a lot of businesses to set up in the city. It is also strategically located at the heart of Asia and is the ideal place for ABLV Group to target the entrepreneurial market in the region."
