Transcript of remarks by S for S after FCC meeting
**************************************************

Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Security, Mr Lai Tung-kwok, at a media session at Central Government Offices, Tamar, after the Fight Crime Committee meeting this afternoon (February 23):

Reporter: What is the Security Bureau's stance on the introduction of law that bans protesters from wearing masks? My second question is, what is your response to criticism that the court had been too lenient to protesters after the occupy movement?

Secretary for Security: These two questions I have already answered in Chinese. I would like to repeat in English. For the anti-mask law, we noticed that there are quite a lot of discussions among people of Hong Kong expressing different views. The Security Bureau will look into all these suggestions and we will continue to listen to the views of the people of Hong Kong. What is your second question?

Reporter: Your response to criticism that the court had been too lenient?

Secretary for Security: One of the cornerstones of the Hong Kong society is the rule of law and it is the court that, having heard a case, made a judgment in accordance with the law. We all respect the judgment of the court.
