The Legislative Council (LegCo) Panel on Home Affairs conducted a visit to Kowloon Tsai Park and the Hong Kong Stadium today (February 15) to observe the quality of the turf football pitch in order to gain a better understanding of the maintenance work on the turf pitch.
Members first visited Kowloon Tsai Park to observe a natural turf football pitch and two artificial turf football pitches. Members received a briefing by representatives of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) on the maintenance work on the two different types of turf pitches.
Afterwards, Members went to the Hong Kong Stadium to observe the turf pitch which was reconstructed in 2015. Members also took this opportunity to learn about the management and improvement measures to enhance the quality of the turf pitch, as well as the effectiveness of such measures from LCSD representatives.
Members who participated in the visit are the Deputy Chairman of the Panel on Home Affairs, Mr Yiu Si-wing, along with Panel members, Mr Ng Leung-sing, Dr Kenneth Chan and Mr Ip Kin-yuen.
