Police last night (February 11) reclassified a dead body found case in Pat Heung on January 30 as murder, suicide and arson.
About 9.42am on that day, Police received a report from a 57-year-old woman that she found her 96-year-old mother¡¦s village house at Tse Uk Tsuen on Kam Sheung Road was locked and nobody answered the door. Police officers sped to the scene and found the 96-year-old woman and her 36-year-old foreign domestic helper collapsed inside a bedroom. Sustaining burnt injuries to their bodies, both were certified dead at scene.
Further investigation by Police revealed that the 36-year-old woman was suspected of having set fire inside the house to commit suicide and murder the 96-year-old woman.
Active investigation by the District Crime Squad of Yuen Long is under way.
