CE inspects passing-out parade at Hong Kong Police College (with photos)

     The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, today (February 6) inspected the passing-out parade for 27 probationary inspectors and 244 recruit constables at the Hong Kong Police College.

     Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Leung said the overall crime rate of Hong Kong has been dwindling and the crime figures for 2015 has hit to a new low in 36 years. The outstanding performances of the Police Force in crime prevention and crime fighting have made Hong Kong one of the safest cities in the world.

     He praised Police officers for their dedication and perseverance in the face of myriads of challenges. He believed that all graduates, like their fellow Force members, would be devoted to enforcing the law impartially.

     The Chief Executive also noted that the Police College has organised a wide range of activities to celebrate its 10th anniversary including an Open Day on January 10, which were well received and has allowed the public to better understand the police work.

     In his concluding remarks, Mr Leung encouraged the graduates to carry on their hard work and the fine tradition of the Force in serving the community and maintaining the law and order of the city.
