**********************************************************

Police received a reply letter from the Interpol Guangdong Liaison Office of Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department this afternoon (February 4), stating that it was understood that Lui Por, Cheung Chi Ping and Lam Wing Kee were suspected to be involved in a case relating to a person surnamed Gui, and were involved in illegal activities on the Mainland. Criminal compulsory measures were imposed on them and they were under investigation.

A letter by Lee Po addressed to Police Force of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government was enclosed in the reply letter stating that relevant mainland authorities had informed him about Police's wish to meet with him on the Mainland. He also stated that he did not need to meet with Police at the moment. He would contact Police should he need to meet with Police. Police have contacted Mrs Lee. She confirmed that it was Lee Pos handwriting.

Police wrote to the Interpol Guangdong Liaison Office of Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department requesting the Department to assist in following up the situations of Lui Por, Cheung Chi Ping and Lam Wing Kee, and to pass on a message to Lee Po that Police still wanted to meet with him as soon as possible.
