Michael Young's Oxygen Chair, for which he developed a set of steel tools in which molten aluminum could be injected with high-temperature gas under immense pressure, resulting in rock-like, sedimentary formations. The chair has recently been acquired by the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art for its permanent collection.   Close
