LegCo Panel on Housing visits Tin Yiu Estate in Tin Shui Wai (with photos)

     The Legislative Council (LegCo) Panel on Housing conducted a visit to Tin Yiu Estate in Tin Shui Wai today (February 1) to better understand the impact posed by the plan of Link Asset Management Limited (Link) to convert Tin Yiu Market into a shopping complex.  

     According to Link's plan, the wet market stalls in Tin Yiu Market will be relocated to Tin Shing Market. Members first walked from Tin Tsz Estate to Tin Shing Market to estimate the time required to reach Tin Shing Market under the plan. Members then walked from Tin Shing Market to Tin Yiu Market to meet and listen to the request of the local residents.

     Members who participated in the visit included the Chairman of Panel on Housing, Mr Christopher Chung; the Deputy Chairman of the Panel, Ms Alice Mak, as well as Panel members Mr Frederick Fung and Mr Leung Che-cheung.
