Special traffic and transport arrangements at Mong Kok Flower Market before Lunar New Year

     The Transport Department (TD) today (February 1) reminded the public that special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented for the Mong Kok Flower Market before the Lunar New Year.

     The arrangements mainly include:

1. Temporary road closures
--------------------------
* Flower Market Road, Yuen Ngai Street, Yuen Po Street and the section of Prince Edward Road West Service Lane between Sai Yee Street and Embankment Road will be temporarily closed from 8am on February 3 until 8am on February 8.

     All vehicles without a valid permit for unloading activities will be prohibited from entry from 12.01am to 5pm daily from February 3 to February 7. The time of temporary road closure may be advanced subject to the prevailing traffic situation and the decision of the Police.

* Subject to the prevailing traffic situation and the decision of the Police, the following sections of roads may be temporarily closed at or before 8am on February 3 until 8am on February 8:
- The section of Sai Yee Street between Prince Edward Road West and Boundary Street;
- The section of Fa Yuen Street between Prince Edward Road West and Boundary Street;
- The section of Playing Field Road between Tung Choi Street and Sai Yee Street; and
- The section of Prince Edward Road West Service Lane between Nathan Road and Sai Yee Street.

2. Temporary conversion of taxi stand into taxi pick-up/drop-off point

     The taxi stand in Fa Yuen Street between Playing Field Road and Prince Edward Road West Service Lane will be temporarily converted into a taxi pick-up/drop-off point from 8am on February 3 to 8am on February 8.

3. Temporary suspension of parking spaces
-----------------------------------------
(i) The metered parking spaces at the section of Tung Choi Street between Prince Edward Road West Service Lane and Boundary Street will be suspended from noon on February 3 to 8am on February 8.

(ii) The metered parking spaces at the section of Fa Yuen Street between Prince Edward Road West Service Lane and Boundary Street will be suspended from 8am on February 3 to 8am on February 8.

(iii) The metered parking spaces at the section of Playing Field Road between Tung Choi Street and Sai Yee Street will be suspended from 3pm on February 7 to 8am on February 8.

(iv) The motorcycle parking spaces at Tung Choi Street near Playing Field Road will be suspended from noon on February 3 to 8am on February 8.

(v) The motorcycle parking spaces at the following road sections will be suspended from 8am on February 7 to 8am on February 8:
- The section of Playing Field Road between Tung Choi Street and Fa Yuen Street; and
- Underneath Prince Edward Road West Flyover between Tung Choi Street and Sai Yee Street.

(vi) The parking spaces for drivers with disabilities at Fa Yuen Street near Boundary Street will be suspended from 8am on February 3 to 8am on February 8.

(vii) The parking spaces for drivers with disabilities at Playing Field Road near Tung Choi Street will be suspended from 8am on February 7 to 8am on February 8.

4. Temporary relocation/suspension of bus stops and GMB stops

     The following temporary public transport arrangements will be implemented from 6pm on February 6 to 6am on February 7 and from 2pm on February 7 to 7am on February 8:

(i) The bus stop for KMB routes 1, 1A, 3C, 42, 95, 203C and N216 as well as cross-harbour route 104 outside 191 Prince Edward Road West will be suspended; and

(ii) The minibus stop of Kowloon green minibus routes 12, 17M, 46, 66S, 69A and 70 outside 191 Prince Edward Road West will be suspended.

     The following temporary public transport arrangements will be implemented from 6pm on February 6 to 7am on February 8:

(i) The bus stop of KMB routes 1, 1A and 203C as well as cross-harbour route 104 at Tung Choi Street outside Mong Kok Police Station will be temporarily relocated northward to Tung Choi Street near No. 225; and

(ii) The minibus stop of Kowloon green minibus routes 12 and 69A at Tung Choi Street outside Mong Kok Police Station will be temporarily relocated northward to Tung Choi Street near No. 225.
