Spanish dance company Aracaladanza to stage "Constellations" in March
************************************************************

Spanish modern dance company Aracaladanza will return to Hong Kong with its new production, "Constellations", in March, following on from its "Nada...Nada", which received an overwhelming response when it was staged here in 2008.

Hailed as "a poetic alchemy combining dance and painting" by France's La Provence.com, "Constellations" is a dance cocktail of vivid colours, shapes and games based on imagery conceived by the great Spanish artist, Joan Miró. Taking inspiration from a series of Miró works that focused on space, choreographer Enrique Cabrera fills his imaginary blank canvas with wonderful dance, ingenious puppetry and terrific digital visuals in line with the company's trademark playfulness, creativity and style.

Based in Madrid since 1995, Aracaladanza has been created a fascinating world of dance theatre for its audiences, with innovative sets and fancy costumes geared towards children and youths. Fantasy and imagination are the main ingredients of Aracaladanza productions. The company has performed around the world, giving over 1,000 performances in the last five years. Its works have also been widely recognised, with awards including the prestigious Spanish National Theatre Prize for Children and Youth.

"Constellations" is presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. It will be staged at 7.30pm on March 25 and 26 (Friday and Saturday) and at 3pm on March 26 and 27 (Saturday and Sunday) at the Theatre of Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre. A workshop (in English) will also be held at 11.30am on March 27 (Sunday) at the Theatre of Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre.

Tickets priced at $140, $180 and $240 for the performances and at $80 for the workshop are now available at URBTIX (www.urbtix.hk). For telephone credit card bookings, please call 2111 5999.
