LD holds occupational health public talks

     The Labour Department (LD) will hold a public talk entitled "Prevention of Lower Limb Disorders" on February 2 (Tuesday). The talk will introduce symptoms of common lower limb disorders such as plantar fasciitis, varicose veins and osteoarthritis of the knee, and their treatment and preventive measures. Demonstration of workplace exercise will also be included.

     The talk will be held at 3pm in the Lecture Hall, Sheung Wan Civic Centre, 5/F, Sheung Wan Municipal Services Building, 345 Queen's Road Central, Hong Kong. The LD's Occupational Health Nurse will give the talk.

     The LD will hold another talk entitled "Strategies for the Prevention of Occupational Diseases" on February 15 (Monday). The talk will introduce some common hazards causing occupational diseases and a hierarchy of control measures to enhance the awareness of employees and employers on strategies for the prevention of occupational diseases.

     The talk will be held at 3pm in the Lecture Hall of the Hong Kong Science Museum, 2 Science Museum Road, Tsim Sha Tsui East, Kowloon. The LD's Occupational Health Nurse will give the talk.

     The talks will be conducted in Cantonese. Admission is free.
