Fourteen building plans approved in November

     The Buildings Department approved 14 building plans in November, with five on Hong Kong Island, six in Kowloon and three in the New Territories.

     Of the approved plans, five were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, four were for commercial developments and five were for community services developments.

     In the same month, consent was given for work to start on seven building projects that, when completed, will provide 78 322 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 1 417 units, and 328 730 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for 11 building projects.

     The department also issued 20 occupation permits, with five on Hong Kong Island, nine in Kowloon and six in the New Territories.

     Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 160 145 sq m, involving 1 317 units, and 40 297 sq m was for non-domestic use.

     The declared cost of new buildings completed in November totalled about $7 billion.

     In addition, six demolition consents involving six building structures were issued.

     The department received 2 646 reports about unauthorised building works in November, and issued 2 003 removal orders on unauthorised works.
