Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Yau Ma Tei yesterday (January 11) in which a 67-year-old woman was killed.
About 7.58pm, a taxi driven by a 68-year-old man was travelling westbound along Waterloo Road. When reaching near Canton Road, the taxi reportedly hit the 67-year-old woman who was crossing the road after colliding with a trolley.
Sustaining injuries, the woman was rushed to Kwong Wah Hospital in unconscious state, and was certified dead at 8.30pm.
The taxi driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West is underway.
