Cordua & Magnus from the Netherlands to perform dance and shadow play show "Little Swan Lake" for children
**********************************************************

The dance and shadow play performance "Little Swan Lake" by Cordua & Magnus from the Netherlands will be staged in March for children aged 2 to 8. The show, presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, features a story involving collections of everyday objects and the music of Tchaikovsky.

"Little Swan Lake" combines dance theatre with shadow play and object theatre, together with music specially re-arranged from one of the best-known ballet pieces, "Swan Lake" by Tchaikovsky. The story thematically presents a world with magic and envy to young children and tells them what love is.

The story takes place by a lake. There are not only swans living nearby but all kinds of strange creatures lurking around. One day when swan parents are waiting for their baby swans, something different comes out from an egg.

Jördis Cordua and Regina Magnus from the Netherlands have collaborated for more than 10 years. Their dance theatre works for young audiences stem from their experiences and research on children's education and choreography. They have developed their own language in their performances, and often mix shadow play, object theatre, overhead animation and live music. Inspired by everyday objects, Cordua & Magnus has created fantastical and imaginative pieces such as "Little Swan Lake" and "Thimble ...!".

The show will be staged at 5pm and 7.30pm on March 4 (Friday) and at 2.30pm and 5pm on March 5 and 6 (Saturday and Sunday) at the Cultural Activities Hall of Sha Tin Town Hall. Tickets priced at $200 are now available at URBTIX (www.urbtix.hk). For telephone credit card bookings, please call 2111 5999.
