SCED speaks on Copyright (Amendment) Bill 2014
**********************************************

Following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, on the Copyright (Amendment) Bill 2014 at a media session in the Legislative Council Complex today (January 7):

Reporter: What is your reaction to this latest setback? When do you think this bill can eventually be passed?

Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development: I would like to express my regret. This setback is not really any particular organisation or individual setback. It's a setback for all of Hong Kong. How many times can we tolerate these meetings to be abruptly terminated because of insufficient quorum. Almost all these calls of quorum are deliberately attempted to prematurely terminate the session in LegCo (Legislative Council). This is not in the best interest of Hong Kong. I call upon the pan-democratic LegCo members to return to this Chamber. This is their job and I express my regret that they fail to do so, leading to this bill not being adequately deliberated and discussed in this Chamber.
