The Transport Department (TD) today (January 5) reminded interested tenderers for Lantau taxi licences to make necessary arrangements to ensure the timely payment of deposits.
A spokesman for the department said, "The Government is inviting tenders for 25 Lantau taxi licences and tenderers have to pay a deposit of $50,000. Submission will close at noon on January 11, 2016. Since there may be more people going to the TD's Hong Kong Licensing Office in Admiralty to pay the deposit before the tender is closed, interested tenderers should make necessary arrangements to ensure the timely payment of deposits."
The Government, having regard to survey results and public feedback, as well as the future development of Lantau Island, decided to issue 25 new Lantau taxi licences to meet the demand for taxi service in Lantau Island.
