The Legislative Council (LegCo) Panel on Security conducted a visit to the Police Headquarters today (January 4) to better understand the operations of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau and the Regional Command and Control Centre of the Hong Kong Island Region.
During the visit to the Police Headquarters, members were briefed on the work of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau and observed demonstrations on dealing with explosive objects. Members also visited the Regional Command and Control Centre of the Hong Kong Island Region to learn more about its operation.
Members then attended a lunch hosted by the Commissioner of Police, Mr Stephen Lo. They took the opportunity to exchange views on matters of mutual concern.
Members who participated in the visit included the Chairman of Panel on Security, Mr Ip Kwok-him; the Deputy Chairman of the Panel, Mr Chung Kwok-pan, and Panel members Mr James To, Ms Emily Lau, Ms Cyd Ho, Mr Paul Tse, Mr Alan Leong, Ms Claudia Mo, Mr Yiu Si-wing, Mr Ma Fung-kwok, Mr Chan Chi-chuen, Mr Kwok Wai-keung and Dr Elizabeth Quat, as well as non-Panel members Mr Lee Cheuk-yan, Mr Tam Yiu-chung, Mr Wong Kwok-hing, Mr Poon Siu-ping and Mr Tang Ka-piu.
