Fatal traffic accident in Lok Ma Chau

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Lok Ma Chau this morning (January 4) in which a 58-year-old man was killed.
 
     About 10.16am, a taxi driven by a 58-year-old man was travelling along Lok Ma Chau Path towards Ha Wan Tsuen Road. When approaching Lok Ma Chau Road, it reportedly lost control and rammed against the kerb.
 
     The taxi driver was trapped inside the compartment and rescued by firemen. Sustaining head injuries, he was rushed to North District Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 10.58am. Two passengers, including a 29-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman, were injured and sent to Prince of Wales Hospital and North District Hospital for medical treatment in semi-conscious and conscious state respectively.
 
     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway.
