Appointment to Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited

     The Government today (December 21) announced the appointment of Mr Chan Sai-ming as the Director of the Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited (HKIRC) for a term of two years with effect from December 16, 2015.

     Mr Chan is the Executive Director and Deputy General Manager of Nanyang Commercial Bank, Limited and President of ISACA China Hong Kong Chapter.

     "We are delighted that Mr Chan has accepted the appointment. We trust that his experience and expertise will be beneficial to the works of HKIRC in the effective, customer-centric and sustainable administration of '.hk' and '.­»´ä' Internet domain names," a government spokesman said.

     "We would like to express our gratitude to the outgoing director Mr Joseph Yu Shin-gay for his valuable contributions to HKIRC in the past six-plus years," the spokesman added.

     HKIRC is a non-profit-making and non-statutory corporation designated by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government to administer the registration of Internet domain names under ".hk" and " .­»´ä" country-code top level domains. The HKIRC Board comprises four directors appointed by the Government and four directors elected by the HKIRC members. Other Board of Directors are Mr Leo Kan Kin-leung, Professor Francis Chin Yuk-lun, Mr Felix See, Mr Erwin Huang, Miss Ping Wong, Mr Young Wo-sang and Mr Fan Kin-man.
