Police appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Kowloon City

     Police today (December 21) appealed to the public for information on a fatal traffic accident in Kowloon City on December 6 in which an 86-year-old woman died.

     About 10.21am that day, a medium goods vehicle (MGV) driven by a 55-year-old man was travelling along westbound Ma Tau Kok Road. When reaching near Tam Kung Road, it reportedly knocked down the 86-year-old woman who was crossing the road.

     The woman was trapped under the MGV and rescued by firemen. Sustaining serious injuries to her lower body, she was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in conscious state and was certified dead at 7.06am on December 9.

     The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report back to Police in early-January, 2016.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are underway.
