Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Ngau Tau Kok this afternoon (December 17) in which a 73-year-old woman was killed.
At about 3.20pm, a public light bus (PLB) driven by a 63-year-old man was travelling along Choi Hing Road eastbound. When turning right to Choi Wing Road, the PLB reportedly knocked down the woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious head injuries, the woman was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state where she was certified dead at 6.49pm.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm and is being detained for further enquiries.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East are underway.
