Third meeting of Hong Kong/Guangzhou Co-operation Working Group held in Hong Kong (with photos)

     Leading a Hong Kong delegation, the Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Raymond Tam, today (December 17) convened the third meeting of the Hong Kong/Guangzhou Co-operation Working Group in Hong Kong with the Vice Mayor of the People's Government of Guangzhou Municipality, Mr Cai Chaolin, and the Guangzhou delegation.

     At the meeting, both sides exchanged views on issues including development of the Nansha area of the China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone, exchange and co-operation among professionals, cross-boundary e-commerce, airport co-operation, education and youth co-operation, and discussed the directions of future co-operation.

     Mr Tam said, "The taking forward of major development strategies, such as the 13th Five-Year Plan, the 'Belt and Road' initiative and the China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone, by our country presents immense opportunities for the various sectors of the two places. Looking ahead, Hong Kong and Guangzhou will strengthen ties and co-operation and push forward co-operation under the principles of complementarity and mutual benefits."

     The third meeting was co-chaired by Mr Tam and Mr Cai. Other officials of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government attending the meeting included representatives from the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau, the Transport and Housing Bureau, the Development Bureau, the Education Bureau, the Home Affairs Bureau, the Department of Justice and the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer.
