The Hospital Authority (HA) announced today (December 17) the appointment of Dr Chung Kin-lai as the Hospital Chief Executive of North District Hospital with effect from January 4, 2016, upon the job rotation of the incumbent, Dr Man Chi-yin.
Dr Chung, a fellow of the Hong Kong Colleges of Surgeons and Emergency Medicine, is currently the Chief Manager (Cluster Performance) in the Cluster Services Division of the HA Head Office. He is a seasoned senior executive and possesses substantial management experience both at the hospital and corporate levels. In his current position, Dr Chung has successfully revamped the bed monitoring system in the HA to ensure optimal utilisation and co-ordinated the response plan for the winter surge.
Prior to his current appointment, Dr Chung was the Hospital Chief Executive of Castle Peak and Siu Lam Hospitals. He had overseen the overall development and operation management of the two hospitals and was able to gain the trust and co-operation of senior clinical leaders to drive service reforms for the patients.
The HA Chairman, Professor John Leong, and the HA Chief Executive, Dr Leung Pak-yin, congratulated Dr Chung on his new appointment and wish him every success in taking up the new position.
