Official ceremony held to commemorate Nanjing Massacre (with photos)

     The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region held an official ceremony at the Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence this morning (December 13) in commemoration of the victims who died in the Nanjing Massacre and those who were killed during the Japanese invasion.

     This year is the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people's war of resistance against Japanese aggression. During the memorial ceremony, the Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, laid a wreath and guest representatives presented flowers, and all participants paid tribute together.

     Also present at this morning's ceremony were representatives of the various Central People's Government organisations in Hong Kong, Judiciary representatives, senior government officials, members of the Legislative Council, members of the Executive Council, former members of the Hong Kong Independent Battalion of the Dongjiang Column, representatives of war veteran groups and other members of the community.
