Support social enterprise products at HKBPE
*******************************************

It's time for Christmas and New Year shopping. To support social enterprises (SEs) for helping the socially disadvantaged and also generating other social benefits, why not patronise the SE booths at the 50th Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo (HKBPE) to be held in Victoria Park, Causeway Bay, from this Saturday (December 12) to January 4 next year?

The Home Affairs Department (HAD) has arranged for a total of 15 SEs to take turns to showcase a variety of products and services in the coming HKBPE.

The SEs will exhibit at the designated SE zone covering booths No. 4A10 to 4A14 at the venue. Products and services include healthy and organic food, household products, clothes and accessories, rehabilitation products and eco-friendly products. People purchasing products at the SE booths will get a fine souvenir free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. Please refer to the Annex for more details.

A spokesman for the HAD said the department has arranged for SEs to participate in the HKBPE with a view to showcasing the quality and variety of SE products and encouraging more people to support SEs. He pointed out that public support is crucial for SEs to achieve their dual targets of caring for the underprivileged while sustaining their business.

The 50th HKBPE will be open from 11am to 10pm, and will close at 8pm on the last day of the exposition. Complimentary booths at the SE zone are offered once again by the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong. The HAD will also provide information on SEs at the scene. Admission tickets are $10 each. Children 1 metre tall or less, senior citizens aged 65 or above and persons with disabilities will be admitted free of charge.
