Fatal traffic accident in Tin Sum

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tin Sum this morning (December 9) in which a 20-year-old man was killed.

     About 7.45am, a private car driven by a 20-year-old man was travelling along Tai Po Road towards Kowloon. When approaching Tai Po Road ¡V Sha Tin Heights near Luk Hop Village, it reportedly lost control and collided with a bus, which was travelling towards New Territories.

     The private car driver was trapped inside the compartment and rescued by firemen. Sustaining serious head injury, he was rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 8.30am. The 51-year-old bus driver and seven passengers, including three men and four women aged from 19 to 73, were injured and sent to Prince of Wales Hospital for medical treatment in conscious state.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South are under way.
