The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, met the visiting Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization, Mr Francis Gurry, at the Chief Executive's Office this afternoon (December 3) to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.
Mr Leung welcomed the visit by Mr Gurry to attend the Business of Intellectual Property (IP) Asia Forum. He noted the rising awareness of IP protection in the region, and said that Hong Kong's outstanding business environment, robust IP protection regime as well as our role as the "super-connector" between the Mainland and the rest of the world would help promote the city as a regional IP trading hub.
Mr Leung said he hoped that they would continue to maintain close communication and co-operation to enhance IP protection.
