Employer fined for violation of safety legislation

Shun Shing Transportation Engineering Company Limited was fined $40,000 at Tsuen Wan Magistrates' Courts today (December 2) for violation of the Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance. The prosecution was launched by the Labour Department.
The case involved a fatal accident that occurred on June 14, 2014, in Lantau Island. A worker fell to his death from a metal I-beam structure while assisting in the lifting operation of a mobile crane.
