The outdoor "Concert in the Park 2015" will be held this Sunday (December 6) from 1.30pm to 7pm at Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza. Under the theme the "Beat is On", the concert will feature various types of music including pop, rock, funk, country, folk, R&B, blues, Latin and samba. Admission is free.
Nine groups will perform at the concert with DJ the Big Jay as disc jockey and Michael Vincent and Jun "Tita Kerry" Paragas as emcees.
Opening the concert will be STACS, a local rock band comprising Japanese, Chinese and American musicians, while the Salvaje-Afro Brazilian Percussion Ensemble will enchant the audience with traditional samba batucada music in the finale performance.
Other line-ups include local groups Black Widow, T 4 Band and Call of Duty, blues band 852Blue and funksters D¡¦bloodFunk. Talented youth bands including AMUSIKA, which is made up of talented youths from Section Juan, a youth organisation for Filipinos in Hong Kong, and local outfit Mishmash, will also perform at the concert.
"Concert in the Park 2015" is jointly presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) and the Philippine Consulate General in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), and in co-operation with the Hong Kong Musicians Union. The concert aims to promote cultural exchange and the joy of music for the Filipino community and locals alike.
