The Hospital Authority (HA) today (November 27) published the biannual issue of Medication Safety Bulletin (MSB), which is one of the Authority's regular publications to promote risk management among healthcare professionals in public hospitals.
The latest issue features a recently introduced function of medication discontinuation in Medication Order Entry (MOE) with reason specified, to enable doctors to mark medication discontinuation explicitly and hence to avoid unintentional repetition in prescribing drugs.
The bulletin also recommends practical tips for entering drug allergy records in the Clinical Management System to minimise potential confusion from front-line staff.

The MSB is published every six months, on the last Fridays of May and November. The next issue will be published on May 27, 2016.
