The appointments were made under the Professional Accountants Ordinance (PAO) (Cap. 50). Their new term of appointment will commence on December 1, 2015, and will expire on November 30, 2017.

Announcing the appointments today (November 27), Professor Chan said, "The accountancy sector plays a pivotal role in Hong Kong's success as an international financial centre. We look forward to the contribution of Mr Fung and Mr Mak to the work of the HKICPA in regulating the accountancy profession and promoting its development."
