Cantonese opera stars from Pearl River Delta region to perform in Hong Kong

     Cantonese opera stars from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau will collaborate in the cultural co-operation project "A Showcase of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Cantonese Opera Masters" in December.

     Artists from the three places will jointly perform Cantonese opera excerpts including "A Sword of Loyalty" by Chu Chan-wa and Guo Fengnu, "Under the Umbrella" by Li Junsheng and Tang Mi-ling, "White Dragon Pass" by Lung Koon-tin and Zeng Hui, "Breaking the Royal Sedan Chair" by Sun Kim-long and Mai Yuqing, "Jinlian Teasing the Brother-in-law" from "Wu Song" by Ou Kaiming, Nam Fung and Tsai Chih-wei as well as "Vengeance at the Lion Pavilion" from "Wu Song" by Peng Qinghua and Wang Yanfei.  

     The production is one of the programmes of "A Greater Pearl River Delta Cultural Cooperation Project" jointly presented by the Department of Culture of Guangdong Province, the Home Affairs Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region, and organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.

     "A Showcase of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Cantonese Opera Masters" will take place at 7.30pm on December 27 (Sunday) at the Auditorium of Sha Tin Town Hall.
