LAUNCH IoT Conference to draw top speakers at InvestHK's StartmeupHK Festival

     Brinc IoT Hub announced the enhanced line-up of speakers at the LAUNCH IoT Conference, which is part of Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK)'s large-scale StartmeupHK Festival scheduled for January next year.

     The week-long StartmeupHK Festival will run from January 23 to 30, with leading accelerators, corporates and associations holding a series of thematic conferences and pitching events covering areas such as the Internet of things (IoT), financial technology, health technology and data analytics, in which Hong Kong has a distinct competitive advantage. There will also be InvestHK's StartmeupHK Venture Forum, which is scheduled for January 26.

     The Director-General of Investment Promotion, Dr Simon Galpin, said, "The Festival is aimed at showcasing the dynamism and growth of Hong Kong's start-up ecosystem to both international and domestic audiences comprising local and overseas start-ups, investors and business leaders. It is expected to attract thousands of local and overseas start-ups, investors and business leaders to converge in Hong Kong."

     The CEO of Brinc, Mr Manav Gupta, said that his group has so far invited speakers from leading hardware, software and services companies to converge and push the boundaries on the future and lasting impact of IoT on product development and consumer business models. Speakers at the LAUNCH IoT Conference will include senior executives such as CEO and founder of Misfit Mr Sonny Vu; Investor with Samsung Global Innovation Center Ms Christina Bechhold; the Director of Architecture, Microsoft, Mr Josh Holmes; the CEO of Li & Fung, Mr Spencer Fung; the Director of Hardware, Design and Technology of Indiegogo, Mr Ben Bateman; and representatives from Tesla, Fresco Capital, Nest Investments, CoCoon and more.

     The two-day LAUNCH IoT Conference will be held at PMQ on January 27 and 28. Designed as a forum for experts and visionaries alike, the conference will offer comprehensive and technical IoT programming with opportunities to truly network with founders, investors and influencers in the global IoT ecosystem, Mr Gupta said.
