The Labour Department will hold a retail industry job fair at the Domain shopping mall in Yau Tong on November 11 and 12.
A total of 54 organisations from the retail industry, offering about 4 800 vacancies, will participate in the fair. Twenty-seven participating organisations will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment each day.
The vacancies offered cover a wide variety of retail-related positions such as store manager, beauty advisor, shop data entry person, sales assistant, cashier, shop assistant, security guard, storekeeper and driver. Job seekers can find more information on the department's Interactive Employment Service website (www.jobs.gov.hk).
Around 74 per cent of the vacancies are full-time jobs. Most vacancies offer monthly salaries ranging from $8,000 to $15,000. Over 98 per cent of the vacancies require a Secondary Six education level or below. Around 64 per cent of the vacancies are open to job seekers who may lack relevant experience.
Job seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. They can also register for employment services at the Labour Department's counter.
The job fair will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at the Atrium, G/F, Domain, Yau Tong (38 Ko Chiu Road, Yau Tong, Kowloon; MTR Yau Tong Station Exit A1). Admission is free.
