Fatal traffic accident in Tsuen Wan

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tsuen Wan in this afternoon (November 7) in which a 64-year-old man was killed.
 
     About 1.10pm, a medium goods vehicle (MGV) driven by a 60-year-old man and a public light bus (PLB) driven by the 64-year-old man were travelling in sequence along Tsing Long Highway towards Kowloon. When reaching near Ting Kau Bridge, the MGV reportedly stopped due to mechanical failure. The PLB failed to brake and collided with the MGV.
 
     The PLB driver was trapped inside the compartment and rescued by firemen. Sustaining serious multiple injuries in unconscious state, he was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) where he was certified dead at 4.03pm. Eight PLB passengers, including six men and two women aged from 4 to 67, were injured and sent to PMH for medical treatment in conscious state.
 
     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South are underway.
