**************************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

The spokesperson for the United Christian Hospital (UCH) made the following appeal tonight (November 6) regarding a patient leaving the hospital without notifying the hospital staff:

A female patient aged 39, who is currently at 22 weeks of gestation, was found to have left the gynaecology ward at UCH without notifying the hospital staff this afternoon at 1.40pm. The patient revealed that she was facing some emotional problems when she was admitted to the hospital yesterday (November 5).

After discovering the patient leaving the ward without notifying the hospital staff, they reported the case to security guards immediately. Security guards arranged a full scale search within the hospital compound and at nearby local areas and reported to the Police for assistance, but the patient is yet to be located.  The hospital is very concerned about the incident and has immediately informed the patient's family. The hospital will fully co-operate with police in order to locate the patient.

The patient is about 1.5 meters tall, thin, with long black hair tied in ponytail. According to CCTV footage, she was wearing a red t-shirt and long black trousers when she left the ward.  The hospital appeals to the public to contact the Police or call the hospital hotline (5215 6033) if they knew the whereabouts of the patient.
