Education Bureau releases Report on New Academic Structure Medium-term Review and Beyond
***********************************************************

The Education Bureau released today (November 6) the Report on the New Academic Structure Medium-term Review and Beyond, to inform the public on the implementation progress of senior secondary education under the New Academic Structure (NAS) and issues of concern, the key recommendations made in the different stages of the NAS Review, and the way forward in future curriculum renewal.

The NAS Review was jointly launched by the Education Bureau, the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority, and the Curriculum Development Council in 2012. A multi-stage approach was adopted to benefit students at the earliest instance. The short-term review was completed in April 2013, and the medium-term review was completed in June 2015.

The recommendations made in the different stages of the NAS Review have already been announced to schools through EDB Circular Memorandums. With the completion of the medium-term review, the senior secondary curriculum will be continually renewed, both at whole-school and subject levels, to keep abreast of the changes and developments in society and the world.

The Report on the New Academic Structure Medium-term Review and Beyond (English version) has been uploaded to the EDB "NAS Review" dedicated webpage (www.edb.gov.hk/nas/review/en). The Chinese version will be uploaded later.
