In response to media enquiries today (November 3) on water samples with excess lead content at Yuet Ching House of Kai Ching Estate, a spokesman for the Housing Department (HD) issued the following statement:
Results were immediately released when the water sampling tests were completed for individual public rental housing developments. The notice put up by the Kai Ching Estate Property Services Management office yesterday (November 2) only reiterated that the Housing Department and the Water Supplies Department have completed systematic water sampling tests for public rental housing developments completed in and after 2005 and reminded tenants of the non-domestic properties of the results. To avoid misunderstanding, the estate office has withdrawn the notice.
