Funding Scheme for Digital Inclusion Mobile Apps calls for proposals
***********************************************************

The Government is inviting proposals for a new round of the Funding Scheme for Digital Inclusion Mobile Apps today (November 2).

"The Government is committed to promoting digital inclusion to achieve the vision of 'Empowering everyone through technology'. The scheme provides funding support to mobile app development projects to bring benefits to underprivileged groups," a spokesman for the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) said.

In addition to developing the mobile apps, successful applicants are required to promote the apps to their service recipients. The maximum amount of funding support for each selected project is $500,000.

"Twelve mobile apps have been developed in the previous two rounds of the scheme and are now available for free use," the spokesman added.

All local non-profit social service organisations, IT professional bodies and trade associations are welcome to submit proposals for the scheme. The call for proposals will close at noon on December 31.

A briefing session on the scope and requirements of the scheme will be held on November 9 (Monday). For reservation of seats for the briefing session, please fill out the enrolment form available on the OGCIO website (www.ogcio.gov.hk/en/dima) and return it to the OGCIO Digital Inclusion Team by email (digitalinclusion@ogcio.gov.hk) or by fax (2802 4549).
